our appointment was 9Am but we went early at 8am and they let us in.
After security we went to the 1st counter one lady gave back all original Documents and any additional they had on file and told me to go another window for finger prints. After scanning we went to the next window there is one lady start questioning
She only asked me many questions:
What is your wife's name?
How did you meet?
Where will you live?
Where does your co-sponsor work?
what is his job position?
how long u have been married?
where did you get married?
when did you move to dubai?

she have already our wedding pictures.

Then she asked my wife:
what do you do in the US?
after stating that I moved to Dubai she asked When?
She asked if she hadn't worked since last year, she said no i work in dubai
What do you do?
who will support you when you get to the US?

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My husband had his interview today at the Abu Dhabi US embassy. We originally filed for Islamabad but due to work he moved to Abu Dhabi so we filed his DS-230 from there and he changed the embassy to Abu Dhabi.

I don't have very many details about initial screening and all that because I was given some brief details by him since I am in the US. He said he was interviewed by two people. The first person was a lady and gave him a hard time about the financial sponsorship not being adequate and the possibility of us having to find another co-sponsor (since I am a student on loans so i cannot provide the financial sponsorship).

The second person who interviewed him asked him the same questions but my husband's answers re-assured him that it was a minor detail and nothing big enough to hault the application. The interviewer then stated that there was a new rule where any pictures or video or any media sent by CD or anything of the sort was no longer allowed to be opened or viewed at the embassy. My husband unfortunately also only took a CD of pictures which they took away at the gate. So basically, the guy said we didn't have any pictures for proof. Which I thought was ridiculous and the NVC or the embassy should have requested us to bring the hard copies. Regardless, he gave my husband a white sheet saying unfortunately the visa was rejected but he crossed out the section underneath about having to re-apply or appeal. He said since we didnt provide pictures, its the only sheet he could give him but he kept my husband's passport and provided him the embassy immigrant email to email the pictures to. He then told my husband to come pick up the passport on Sunday. There was no other further clarification.

I want to be positive and think that it means the visa will be stamped on his passport when he goes to pick it up so someone please let me know what this means if they kept his passport and told him to come pick it up in less than a week?

Reached USEM at 6:20AM saw Lenny (ylen1982 I met her here at visajourney). At 7:50AM Security guard checked our appointment letter and passport then another security guard check our appointment letter and passport before entering the building, after that went inside for checking and scanning (its like in the airport) they took our phone. Then went to another building, security guard gave us a number I got 003, by the way we are only 3 persons at that time. Then my number flashed at number 8, an Arabic lady took my appointment letter and passport then she went inside to get my files I think that is our I-129F we sent, then she ask for my document I gave her all my forms and documents in folder with tab but she disassemble it and she took the following documents:
1.)Form DS-230
2.)Forms DS-156
3.)Form DS-157
4.)DS-156K
5.)Form I-134 (with supporting documents: current salary letter, current bank statement and 1040 tax form for year 2010)
6.)Copy of Cenomar, Birth certificate, Police clearance
7.)2 passport photo
8.)Evidence Of Relationship (she took the photographs only and return the other evidence to me and told me to just show it to CO if needed)

Original of CENOMAR, Birth certificate, Police clearance was return to me. Then she gave a slip to pay and asked me to return back to her after paying, after paying to casher I returned back to her gave her the receipt and ask me to wait till my number flash again. My number flashed at window 11 for digital finger printing, lady told me to wait near window 3. My number flashed at window 3 an American lady ask me to pick up the phone asked to raise my right hand to swear and sign the forms. Afterward, the interview began. The following questions were asked:
1. So Scott S is your fiancé
2. How did you meet him
3. How long you been a member of eharmony, I mean when you met him
4. How old he is
5. Where does your fiancé live
6. What he does for living
7. What do you do for living
8. How long I been in Dubai
9. When did you met him (in person)
10. How long you been with him (in person)
11. When was the last time you saw him in person
12. When the two of you decided to get married
13. Why you two only file now it’s almost 2 years since you last met him.
14. When will be the wedding, where
Then she scan through our papers and said ok it look all good, then took a blue slip (I got pretty nervous when she took the blue slip, Am thinking we will be on AP) then she said ok we will have a long holiday so your passport will take time with us, is that ok with you, I said its ok. Then she said ok keep this (blue slip) on September 8 1:30PM you come back here and collect your passport with visa.

The interview took only 15minutes or less. At 9:00AM, I and Lenny were out of the USEM building.
